PPPoE RB450 to Draytek 2820

Hi folks,

A puzzling situation here, wondering if any of you can shed any light.

We’ve got an RB450 set up here in our Lab to authenicate PPPoE sessions, works fine for clients such as Windows PCs dialling PPPoE into an interface. However we have 1 rogue CPE, a Draytek Vigor 2820 which refuses to do anything. For those of you not familar with the 2820, it is a DSL router with a WAN2 ethernet port capable of PPPoE. We’re testing it in this configuration, with the WAN2 port talking to the RB450.

The 2820 is issuing a PADI, the packets can be seen on Wireshark, no problems, but the RB450 appears to be ignoring those PADIs coming from the 2820. Despite at the same time NOT ignoring & successfully connecting to other devices (Ubiquiti CPEs, Windows Laptops dialling PPPoE etc). Pretty standard config which appears to be working, the Draytek CPE isn’t essential, but it would just be nice to get the thing working…one of those “I will NOT be beaten” moments

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas…I’m ready to toss the 2820 in the bin if not

Thanks in advance!

Solved it guys - MRRU was set as 512 in PPPoE on MT & the Draytek was requesting 1500, but getting rejected. No adjustment on Draytek so adjusted 512 to 1500 on MT. Seems to work!
