Hi all new to the MikroTik.
Looking at the next thing on my want to do that in networking - MikroTik was in my price range so here I am.
Have a 2011UiAS.
Was thinking it was just a bit more then a netgear router I was wrong.
Have it up and running now trying to get it to what i need .
I am on a MAC so I use web page logon.
I have NBN and it needs a PPPoE with user and password to log on as there is on modem at the moment i have the TPG router plugged in to the Mik
Any help would be great.
By the fact you are using NBN from TPG - I have to assume you are in Australia (hey, me too!)
Basically, you want to get rid of TPG’s ‘Modem’ and from the NTD (the NBN Box inside your house) plug a network cable straight from the active port, to a port on your RouterBOARD.
Once you have done this, log in to your RouterBOARD and go to Quickset on the left. Select Mode: Router, then for ‘Address Acquisition’ select ‘PPPoE’.
Put in your username and password.
Make sure ‘NAT’ is ticked down the bottom.
Hit apply, and hopefully it does the rest for you.
Thanks Joe
Yea from OZ in Sydney new development so lucked out with the NBN.
You are correct that is what i am doing
Done all this, router tells me that I connected gives me an IP and Gateway still no internet
