My provider gives me 1000Mbit via PPTP (no encription).
Currently I am using ASUS AC68U which can pass up to 500-600Mbit via PPTP.
Looking for an alternative router due to some reasons.
Can anyone advice me a Mikrotik router able to pass up to 900-1000 Mbit PPTP ?
You probably mean PPPoE, right?
In that case, almost any Gbit capable router should do the job. I would avoid those, which achieve gigabit just barely and/or have only single core. (e.g. RB2011)
- RB750Gr3 (hEX) if you want cheap-cheap
- RB760iGS (hEX S) if you want optical fiber
- RBD52G (hAP ac2) if you want a wifi in the same box
- RB450Gx4 if you want a board with fancy features and heaps of RAM/storage (box needs to be purchased extra)
But you can also go much higher, if you expect many people to use the connection at the same time (e.g. RB4011 will handle almost anything)
if you are certain that you mean PPTP and not PPPoE, then congratulations, because you are the first person which I know of, who gets their WAN connection over slow and outdated VPN. (and in that case I have no idea which router can do gigabit PPTP)
You can get 1000 Mbps throughput with the Asus RT-AC68U router:

if you use firmware from Merlin:

I own such a router and it was ok for the 1000 Mbps connection.
Because a Mikrotik router is much more configurable and because I also have a small company at home, I now have a RB1100AHx4 Dude Edition as the main router and Asus RT-AC-68U is configured as an AP in the living room.
PPTP
I am having AC68U now with Merlin, maximum 500-600Mbit (speedtest.net) with PPTP.

Here there is no data for PPTP.
Both PPTP and PPPoE is horrible slow. I think you need at least RB4011 or higher.
