PPTP and L5 License limits discrepancy

I have RouterOS level 5 version 4.4. MB on Intel DG35EC with Core2Duo 8500 CPU.
I use it as pptp server for users with NAT and simple queue shaping on 512kbit, 1mbit, 2mbit, 10mbit and 20mbit. On average, about 600-700 clients connected. When the load exceeds approximately 50%, customers are beginning to complain about the loss of packets.
As I understand it, pptp server uses only one core. Is there a way around this? Example make it work another pptp server on a different interface and run a separate process using the second core?
Or I see packet loss for some other reason?

I don’t understand about Level5 License.

according to http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Software_levels . Level 5 only permitted 500 pptp connection.

but You said it work with 600~700 connection.
Maybe it mean Level5 License also allow Unlimited connection but only 500 connection is lecensed?

anyway…I also try to find same thing what you want to do.

In case of me, I tested with VMware workstation with Intel quad-core 4G ram 2 NIC windows2003st installed machine and
Generate 4vm (1g vhdd 1.5g vram vram 1 vcore 1bridged Nic) and it was work like 4 router. and each vrouter handle 100 pptp tunnels what i tested. but i droped that plan because of license cost.

nope, only 500 connections at the same time. users can be unlimited.

hm, pptp for L5 was ‘unlimited’ before Jan 14 %)

Chupaka, That’s what i’m saying.
When i first time buy router board 450G, Level 5 license was permitted unlimitted PPTP tunnel. but after that, when I fix my license issue, it cahnaged.

hm. I can’t understand.
I bought level 5, it was stated an unlimited number of tunnels. now restricted. how can I make sure my case, a number of tunnels supported my license?

where was it stated?
this page ALWAYS said that PPTP tunnels are limited in L5:

http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/License_levels

What reason would L6 have then?

normis,
before ~14 Jan on page http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Software_levels for L5 :
PPTP tunnels - unlimited
L2TP tunnels - unlimited
but
PPPoE tunnels - 500

I really immersed in this table and further asked the question on the number of tunnel pptp in L5 in this forum. Also, if I remember correctly, I have been active >500 tunnels on the current production server, and therefore asked the question about the SMP and not about limit the number of tunnels.

Why are you lying, if the history of page changes tells a different?

This is a link to the page before the January 14 SergejsB revised the number of tunnels for a license

I had no idea about it, it’s just 2 weeks ago, I will find out.

We will all be very grateful.

I just checked with Sergejs and the developers, and the current webpage table (500 limit in L5) is correct, and is the same in software too.

hm. that is, I now can’t update Mikrotik ?
Can you at least notify your users that if they are updated, it will lose the conditions on which the L5 acquired a license?
