Hi All, I’m very new to this and very please I’ve got as far as I have in setting up my Hap Lite as a VPN router. I’ve configured it with a PPTP client using a PureVPN subscription. What I can’t figure out is why my download speed is less than half the speed of my upload? I’m guessing something is monitoring the download and slowing it down? Any ideas or info would be greatly appreciated.
Try L2TP instead PPTP and see if there is any difference. L2TP should be faster, because it uses UDP.
Or is vpn server overloaded
This looks to be the case. I contacted support and stated my problem. They’ve since shared another 6 UK servers which aren’t public on their website. I’ve tested them and found 2 are providng 20mb download which I’m very pleased with as I only get 33mb without going through VPN
