Hello I need to ask a question if you may I have a level 3 mikrotik rb with a VPN server when I connect to this mikrotik by a VPN router from sabai I’m getting a really bad internet connections lags alot but when I connect directly on pc I get a better connection on VPN router I’m getting 2mbs down on speed test and when I connect directly on pc I’m getting 15mbs sometimes 20mbs now my question is if I upgraded to level 5 or 6 will my problem be solved
Mikrotik server isp Comcast connection 105 down 20 up
VPN router isp Ogero Lebanon connection download 24mbs up 4mbs
Short answer: no, increasing the license level won’t increase vpn performance
Increasing the level only increases the tunnel limit

Long answer: I too would like to know why vpn performance is only a small fraction of available bandwidth.

The CPU on the RB may be too slow. Watch '/system resource monitor ’ while testing.
All router boards and os’s that I’ve used in the last several years, CPE classes mind you. CPU usage I’ll have to check but never noticed anything untoward in graphs over time. I’ll have to check for exact figure.
thxs all for replying but i did enhance my peformace with putting a mikrotik on the client side and fixing its mtu to 1400 and turning off vj compression and the server side but this isnt the full solution coz im not using all the bandwidth any ideas that would be great ill monitor cpu usage on the following days
