When trying to connect to a Cisco 506e via internet, the connection fails after keepalive timeout. (it was probably dead or misrouted already although all the IPCP exchanges went fine.
NO firewalling at all. Connect through a NAT or a bridged DSL, five different modems, three locations and ISP accounts - no effect.
The settings are basic - IP / username / password. Tried everything under the sun in the way of settings and routes.
The Cisco public IP is also the remote IP handed down during handshaking along with the local IP - no normal options being rejected.
One symptom, apart from the out is that you can’t ping the public IP when the connection is settled (for the short time it stays alive).
BTW
All other PPTP clients tried connect up just fine.
It’s a shame as I really like MT and wanted to roll them out to our enterprise offices throught Australia, Hong Kong and London.
