PPTP Server not working right after upgrade to rOS 6.6

Hi,

I encountered a problem, Right after I upgrade the ROS from v6.5 to v6.6 today, the PPTP connection changed to “PPTP Server Binding” (screenshot 1), Although the connection shows established but it was hang on waiting for call shown in LOG. (screenshot 2)

There are several router boards in my working environment. Let’s talk below two boxes in order to describe my situation.

Device 1 RB450G, works as PPTP Server
–There are tons of PPTP profiles in this box, and they are working fine this afternoon before I upgrade OS from v6.5 to v6.6

Device 2 RB951G work as PPTP Client
–this device has several VPN contacted, all are in PPTP protocol, some goes to RouterBoard, some goes Windows RAS service.
–this device is running OS 6.5 this afternoon, and has been upgraded to v6.6.
–after Device 1 upgraded to v6.6, the connection to device 1 lost and other connection to Windows RAS service are still working fine.


I tried to downgrade both device to v6.5, but no luck.
Also tried to set up a L2TP between these two devices with same Secret/Profile setting, it is working fine.
Only the connection will stuck on and wait for the call.

Anyone has the same issue? It is welcome for any idea worth for me to give a try.

I would double check the profiles and the PPTP server/ client settings on both sides and make sure they match. Try changing the authentication method and see if that helps any.
Next, try to create a static PPTP interface and see if that works. I have found that having a static interface instead of a dynamic interface has solved a wide range of problems over the years. If you are not familiar with how to do, just go to “Add New” from web fig and select PPTP Server Binding and add the info from the secret.

confirming problems regarding pptp
tested 6.5 and 6.6 client and server not good as
mru 1600 pptp transparrant tunnels do not work.

Same problem with RB751G-2HnD v.6.6 but only failure when ppts or sstp is server, works fine with PPtP client…

same problem with RB2011 and ios 6.5
the status of pptp server shows: not running
and the log file shows terminated and disconnected after successfully Authentication.
