Just getting heavy into RouterOS 3.02 and decide to setup pptp for the first time on the RB750. I enabled pptp with default-encryption, configured secret which is associated with a profile. I then created a pptp server binding and associated it to my secret so I could control routing a bit.
I can authenticate on the local lan to the pptp server and everything works. I enabled the pptp service in ip firewall, added my nat statement for port 1723 to nat from public to the ip of the rb750’s lan ip. Then created my firewall rule to match as well as added a firewall rule for gre protocol to be allowed. This worked for about a week, but suddenly wouldn’t work one morning.
I am still able to connect locally. I did manage to get it to work briefly by disabling pptp, removing firewall rules and nat, reboot, then added the rules back. However, the next time i rebooted the unit it stopped working from the outside.
Any ideas would be helpful..
