I have configured a PPTP VPN for a client successfully at one of their sites. This site uses PPPoE authentication with the ISP.
I have configured a PPTP VPN at their 2nd site but this site uses a ISP provided static WAN address. I cannot connect to the VPN at this site.
Otherwise both routers are identical. Nearly identical firewall rules except for the ‘in’ interface on the first drop firewall rule, same DHCP function, same NAT setup. Both with RB750 hardware. Same two VPN user accounts with the same passwords.
PPTP is working when I authenticate internally but it fails externally.
I disabled all of the firewall rules and I could connect. I re-enabled them one at a time, the fourth rule (the 1st drop rule) prevented a successful connection. Enabling the remaining three rules (two accept rules, one delay) do not help.
Any suggestions? I’m happy to post the config text.
