If I am right this setting work only for 802.11b
I use only long for G.
I think this will work for b/g mode. I think you are saying that this only works in the b part of b/g mode. Which I thought work for b and g mode. Well if it does only work for b mode only is it safe to say that the preamble mode should be set to both vs long? What does G mode only use? Is it smart to calibrate the long and short preamble or is it something completely different?

In my experience in the field, long preamble does reduce overall throughput on the sector by a noticeable degree, but it can stabilize service to problematic customers especially at long link distances.
