Given that Mikrotik now own a plastic prototyping setup, many people have been whinging about Nanostations being so cost effective but not running RouterOS/supporting Nstreme and the direction Mikrotik seem to be taking recently I feel pretty confident in predicting that we will soon see an integrated CPE from Mikrotik. I just hope it is a 802.11a unit!
I hope it happens soon. I have cut my MT purchases for a hotel install from:
RB433, RB411A, 2xR52H
down to a RB450 + 2 bulletHP
So MT is loosing out on the wireless portion of my installs.
Wisp clients are the same, I switched from 411 + R52 to nanostation (+ RB450 for some customers).
Its not just about cost! I like the hardware too, it is easy to install, reliable and no LMR!. I can do an install in 1/3 the time with a bullet. Like others I just wish it ran MT. I would probalby even pay a $20 -$30 premium to order the UBNT or similar hardware with MT preloaded.
