Hello There.
Pls i am a newbie for mikrotik. i was able to setup everything i want. i setuped mikrotik to use the internet and configured costumers to use pppoe-server and it is working fine. my pnly problem i that i want to give priority to instant messengers first and and second to browsing and downloading. Could this be done. if anybody could tell me or give me hints how to do this pls.
i am using 2.8.26

It could be done, but why would you give instant messenging priority? Anyway, it would all be done through the queue tree. You need to mark connections and packets in ‘/ip firewall mangle’ and then use those marks to shape the traffic in the queue tree.

Thanks WildBill. well i need it cause wjen i am out of bandwith my costumers complain that msn is not openning. well if browser is not working i never have a complain or a call but if msn or an instant messenger doesn’t open i have a headach from the phones. so i want if my original isp have a problem or lack in the service i want a garantee that instant messengers will work and have a priority of the bandwith tan anuy thing else. hopefully i will try my best and post again if i have a problem
