Priority on Voice

Hello Guys.

Please help me put a priority on voice traffic.

I have a IPPbx at a call centre and the end users are using dialer software to make calls.
The IP pbx’s ip is 192.168.10.10. The users are connected to a couple unmanaged switches which are connected to interfaces on the Mikrotik.
I have connected each of the 8 port switches on a /28 subnet.

I would appreciate any help.

Thanks
Kimmy

There is an older thread here that might be of help:

Thank you.

Will this be different if I am using diallers as compared to using hardphones which will have a seperate IP as compared to diallers which will be on
the same PC ?

I’m assuming that all you want to do is guarantee priority for a SIP trunk from your PBX to some outside SIP provider rather than QoS to the phone software itself on the desktop. If you need QoS to the desktop software for the phone software, you will need to do some kind of QoS at the switch level. What devices are using as switches to connect to these systems?

I am using the Netgear Prosafe switches which does voice priorty by default.

If you are using software, make sure the packets it generates are being properly tagged as voice by default (via DSCP or CoS or something), otherwise the switches won’t recognize the traffic as voice.
