PROBLEM ALLOWING CAMERA TRAFFIC OUT OF HOTSPOT (GARDENWALL)

Hi guys,

I have a hotspot on a router with internet connectivity. In the hotspot are three camera’s. I have put rules in both the garden wall rules and IP sections to allow the camera’s to get through the hotspot but for the love of garden pixies I cannot get the traffic out. I have set rules to allow EVERYTHING through and still no luck.

As soon as I disable hotspot I get to the camera’s (from the internet side) without a glitch, but even with insane rules allowing every possible ip and protocol through still can’t get to them.

In addition I have added routes allowing the camera’s through even in the firewall!

I will post the configs anyone asks for here but do you have any ideas of the bat too that I can try.

Been 3 months struggling with this problem now!

Camera’s are on same ethernet port on the router as the hotspot and also on the same IP range.

thanks

Take the camera IPs with related macs to the “IP bindings” list and mark them as “bypassed”

Hi,

Working using your suggestion!

I can’t figure out how to see the mac address (nothing in the camera web interface) and not seeing it using the plenthora of tools on the mikrotik (torch etc) so just allowing by IP and it works!

Thanks for the assistance.

Just ping the camera, then look at the ARP table of the router.
