Problem: Cannot see, edit or anything to my users

Hi Folks,

I have been running user manager on my system (its a develpment system) since 2.9.42. I have upgraded it progressively to 3.0rc5 and have had it working well until now.

It is now running on 3.0rc5.

The problem I have is that when I log in to the web interface and then try to view the users they are not there as per the screenshot below:

But when I look at active pppoe sessions in winbox I see that the users are successfully logged in as remote (i.e. user manager) users. as per below screen shot.

If I try to create the user from scratch using the identical credentials the user manager tells me that the user already exists, but it still doesnt show up in the list.

Does anybody know how to recover from this? Or does anybody know how to completely reset the usermanager data? I have uninstalled and re-installed the usermanager many times to no avail.

I should say that this started when I ticked “Accounting OK” field in editing the routers prefferences. Removing the tick does not repair the scenario.

Help appreciated.

PS> I should add that if I try to search for a username the search button is pressed but does nothing…

Hai,
try and make sure you are login in to userman [web interface] as them subcriber

or try checking from cli by typing:

/too user user print

Ok Folks,

Many thanks to Sergejs for helping out with this one.

The problem was due to my misconfiguration.

So for anyone else who has made the same mistake as I have here is what happened.

First off, I had created a customer and then some users. All was working great!

Then I decided to add a user-prefix to my customer ID. I did this without fully understanding how this works. Luckily its a development router…

Having done that I found that I could not view any of my existing users in the users area. This in fact was a correct and normal operation for user manager, because user manager will only display those users with the relevant user-prefix.

So by adding a user prefix I had effectively rendered myself unable to manage them.

The solution was to remove the user-prefix from the customer.
