Problem installing mikroitk 5 on CF...

Hi All,

I have problem installing Mikrotik 5.0 on the CF.
I have Apacer 1GB CF and IDE to CF adapter.

It works great with Mikrotik 3.2, but when I try to install for instance 5.0 version, installation can not find my disk.
I tried to install from CD, net install but it doesn’t work.

My computer is AMD k6 2 500MHz.
BTW, if I connect real HDD instalation passed on the same machine.

Thanks in advance,
silence

Try sticking the CF card in a windows machine. Then when you run netinstall, it should pop up in the list to be eligible for install.

Already tried that.
Windows recognize my CF and I did netinstall from windows.
When I stick it back to router PC, installation starts from CF but after a wile (when start searching for hard drives) I got the same problem.
HDD not found :frowning:
So it starts installation from CF and when finishes searching for drives i get that message,

Also forgot to mention. When I try to install older version (4.17, 4.16) installation finish successfully and after the first boot everything is OK. When try to reboot second time (and any after) it doesn’t want to boot again. I’m getting something like there is no boot drive…

Why not do an install to the working 3.2 and then just upgrade?

Well, I’ll try it today and will post how it passed.
10x for help any way.

I tried it and got the same results :frowning:
It is probably some problem with Mikrotik OS. Doesn’t like CF any more

I’ve got several CFs in the field right now running great with 4.16 loaded. I’ve got a 5.2 flash sitting right here running. Try verson 5.2.

Are you running CF from PC?
Do you have IDE or SATA adapter?
I already tried 5.2, the same issue :frowning:

First I was thinking that mu IDE-CF adapter is not OK, but it works with 3.2

I’m using a CF-IDE adapter. I’m also using some DOMs(disk on module).
