We have problem installing Mikrotik on Intel DG965SS , we use the last version on the download page. Our company wants to go from Linux to Mikrotik for PPPoE users and we try to make some tests.
Anyone had such problem with this ?

you must download and burn imagefile[*.iso] and make bootable disk..

I am sorry I did not explain well. The error is Hard Disk not found. We use a 256 Flash IDE memory. The same memory I use on another machine and it works well. Even I move the installed memmory chip to this mother board and Mikrotik tries to start - Boot Manager starts and then says Can not mount hard drive or something like this.
We afraid that the MB doesnt have real IDE interface but some kind of replacement
I had this very same problem with another Intel board just last week. I found out that the onboard IDE controller wasn’t supported. I switched to a Supermicro board and things worked like a charm.
The same problem with Intel® Desktop Board DG965WH . Looks like PATA controler is Marvell or another Mikrotik non compatible chip. I test 3.0 beta3 too. Mikrotik detect SATA hdd, but “no CDROM found” error still show. May be all 965 chipset motherboard have the same problem? We need SUPPORT!
I see this problem on my Intel P35 board. I wanted to install MT on my new box, i burned the iso image on cd started the system and…
V2.9 said smth like: “Error: hdd drive not found”.
V3.0rc5 says:
Found Hard Drive as Sata 1
Fatal Error: NO CD-ROM found
Press Enter to Reboot.
Is thare any hope that it will work, or should i wait for new release?
I have the same problem on an Intel motherboard DG33FB using a core2duo e6750.
Tried netinstall, and installs fine, but later doesnt boot.
just hangs up on Uncompressing linux, booting kernel…
Hope somebody find a a solution…
