Problem with 2.9.5 hotspot and local area shares

Hi guys,

I have setted up three mikrotik 2.9.5 boxes for three different customers that wanted hotspot access, simple configuration nothing fancy, but we are experiencing a weird behaviour on the LAN shares, we lost comunications on windows mapped drives and shares (this only happens when we enable the hotspot)

This is the scenario:

Internet <------> Mikrotik <-------> LAN
Mikrotik doing DHCP w/IP pool 192.168.0.200 - 192.168.0.254
LAN IP’s 192.168.0.0/24, mikrotik LAN IP 192.168.0.254 and is the gateway for the LAN.
192.168.0.0/24 masquerade
Some IP’s on the LAN are fixed in the range 192.168.0.1 thru 200
Mikrotik doing hotspot for the ip pool 192.168.0.1 thru 253, profile with transparent web-proxy enabled.
No firewall rules at all (yet)

Everything works just perfect with the hotspot disabled, after we enable the hotspot, the users have the hotspot login screen, they login without a problem and they can browse the internet, but after a little while around a couple of minutes all the windows shares and mapped drives in the LAN start to dissconnect, sometimes we are not able to ping, even in the same network… this happens both when user is logged or not logged in to the hotspot.

There are any firewall rules, only the ones that hotspot dynamically makes.

By the way we have setted up about ten like this scenarios using 2.8.X without a problem like this.

Any help ? Ideas? Please?

Looks like nobody wants to help… or also everybody has no clue like me whats going on with 2.9…

I downgraded to 2.8.28 and now everything is working flawless…

Do you have these problems with logged in users ?

Yes, as in text of previous message :

“…even in the same network… this happens both when user is logged or not logged in to the hotspot…”

Best

Jorge

yes, I understand it.
I want to know, if the problem definetly exists between two logged in HotSpot users (are the any problems with their shares)

I really dont know, we did not did that test because all the shares were on a server, and that server did not log into the hotspot.

As soon as you plug the mikrotik w/hotspot enabled into the network, all the problems start appearing.

We downgraded to 2.8 everything started to work flawless.

Thks.

Set address-pool=none for hotspot server. It will disable support for any IP configuration at hotspot client, but problems with sharing should go away.

normis:
my company is an hotel. so i need the routeros support for any IP configuration at hotspot client.
and i have the same proble as boardman’s.

DID I NEED DOWNGRADED TO 2.8

wow. crappiest work around ever.
