Hi guys.
I run into a problem that is not only annoying, it’s weird.. 
Running The Dude v 3.1 (on W2003 server)
OK, first I add a new networkmap (if that works fine), then I’m going to add a device.
I follow this procedure.
- Add New Device
- Enter IP address
- Click on Discover
- The Dude discovers Ping and maybe other services
- Select Ping only (if other are discovered and avaliable)
- Ping (sometimes) disappears before you get the chance to hit Finish..
Going thru the same procedure time after time again doesn’t make it work.
When the device type is discovered as ‘Some Device’ I’ve this problem.
When the device type is discovered as ‘unknown’ I can add services and the discovery process runs OK and Ping doesn’t disappear.
As workaround I now had to follow the following procedure:
- Add New Device
- Enter IP address of an existing device
- Click on Discover
- The Dude discovers Ping and maybe other services
- Select Ping only (if other are discovered and avaliable)
- Replace the IP address with the one of the intended device
- Adjust type to ‘unknown’, chances are the device will be monitored OK now.
Hope this bug will be fixed in the next release.
