There is a problem with the subjected configuration.
The system is LEX:
http://www.lex.com.tw:8080/product/spec/CV860A.doc
MB chipset : VIA PLE133 VT8601A and VT82C686B
When installing - installer loads very long time ~5 minutes. While
loading HD led is always on.
After installation it loads very long. Sometimes “disk not found” (or
similar) message appears.
This CF module (TS128MCF80) has DMA 2 support.
When using older flash that has only pio mode (not dma) - everithing is ok.
I tried to boot with Fedora core 4 boot CD and there was the same
problem. Kernel loading stops at detecting ide devices, than stops at
detecting partitions. The messages “dma timeout” appears.
So linux kernel 2.6 has the same problem as linux kernel 2.4 (used in
routeros 2.9)…
I can solve this problem with other distributions by providing
append=“ide=nodma” in lilo.conf or at boot time.
But I can’t do the same with routeros. Is there any way to add this
kernel parameter at boot time or somehow reinstall the boot loader with this
option?
