We bought 12 access points OUTDOOR RBWAP2ND-BE.
And we can not customize them. According to the instructions, we have to connect to it directly, get an address from it, and go to 192.168.88.1
In fact, it does not. Even if I manually give myself some address, for example 192.168.88.10. It is not visible in the winbox (Neighbors) by MAC.
You can connect to it via Wi-Fi and QUICKLY go to 192.168.88.1, but you can not change the settings. Administration is disconnected after 20-30 seconds and the web interface becomes unavailable.
And this happens before the reset. After reset all the same. The web interface is available for 20-30 seconds and then not available.
I tried to have time to switch points in different modes: CPE, Home AP, Basic AP.
Everything repeats, only in the WISP AP mode, it begins to receive the DHCP address on the network and appears in “Neighbors”, but there is no access to its settings.
This happens with all 12 points, so I decided that the problem may be that some default settings have changed, which is not reflected in the documentation anywhere.
I have no experience with the outdoor models, I can only go my by experience with the indoor capac.
They were indeed defaulted to AP wisp mode.
I cannot remember how I got them from default 192.168.88.1 to my lan setup but i can suggest the following.
Hook up directly to your PC.
On your pc change the ipv3 nic card settings to manual 192.168.88.2 address with 192.168.88.1 as dns server and gateway.
Then initiate winbox and it should discover the unit.
If not type in at the top 192.168.88.1
Even better if you can read the mac address on the unit plug that in the top instead.
Other than that there is no magic I am aware of.
Try a full config reset with the reset button or just netinstall them. The default config on these devices is infuriating!
