I have a problemwith Bandwith.
I wanted to order a Bandwith "2Mbps)upgrade today,because i had still one 1Mbps SDSLConnection.
Now i can’t make an upgrade, why it is impossible.
I can only order a second 1 Mbps line.
Can I connect both lines, so I have 2 Mbps???
I hope you can understand my question,
my english is bad
To get a true 2Mbps connection from two 1Mbps feeds you will need to be able to “bond” the lines at both ends. Thus, you will need support from your ISP to achieve the bonding at their end.
You are correct, it does take two sides to bond anything.
I tryed the MT bonding but it didnt work very well. I had a mt in the isp colo room and a mt at the test site. The over head was like 25 to 30%. Also it would stop working if I pulled one line. there were other things that had problems too. I worked with it for a month before giving up.
Then one of my partners came up with a way to do it. And it has like 5% or less over head and never stops working. I can pull one of the DSL line out of the modem and the bonder keeps working. Plug it back in and it picks right up and bonds back into the group. infact it works so well that we offer it as a service now.
