Problem with chart line names

When adding a device, setting a service “ping” for the first time, the service create a built in data source entry with the name of that device.

Then you can add a chart line with that data source entry. But when you change the name of that device, it does not change the name of the data source entry.

So, devices auto added by discovery normaly put its own IP as name. Normaly we change that name to a familiar name. But the old IP still there. Even changing the IP, the name of that data source still the first address at the moment you have added the service. Then we now need to remove and add again all the services we are currently monitoring to have the data source list entrys updated. A lost of days logging graphs.

Is there another way to do this without lost all the data logged about those services?

Im running v1.1

Oh yea, I found that I can change manually each data source entry name without replace all the services. I just need to make them with the same names I changed on each device. About 3 hundred data source entrys to change names.

Oh, too bad. :frowning: I can only change “snmp oid”… cannot change the name of “build in” types… Seems I need to replace all the services with a new one just to have its own data source entry with the same name of the device it belongs. Help?
