Hi, I’m having problem with maintaining connection to Mikrotik AP. I’m new to Mikrotik and networking and still don’t understand it very good.
My home network is configured to have one Mikrotik AP on first floor and one on second. They have same SSID so that devices on network automatically connect to closer one. This setup works good in general but lately I’ve been having problem with connection on my notebook. When I would be on attic Mikrotik kept connecting my notebook to the Mikrotik AP that was on first floor (even though AP on the second floor had much stronger signal) and signal was so low that I couldn’t even get internet connection. I managed to get around this with adding rule to access list to drop my notebook when it connects with very low signal on first floor AP (no idea if that is proper way to do it).
That worked pretty well for a while but now I have other problem- It connects to second floor AP (with better signal) but then tries to connect to first floor AP and then it gets rejected, and it does that indefinitely- at least that’s what I think it does from this log. Any ideas how to debug/solve this? Thanks.
LOG:
cap1- second floor AP
cap3- first floor AP
