Problem with defectiveness of RB911G-5HPacD

Hi everyone,

I bought 57 pieces of RB911G-5HPacD for one of my customers (for CPE .ac kit) and 9 were broken… Bad soldered LAN port, see photos:

Did I have bad luck or You have met with the same problem ? 16% of defectiveness is veeery high rate.

Next 16 pieces broken… terrible.

a Bad batch maybe?

Have you emailed pics along with defective units serial numbers to support?

Please send all the damaged unit SN numbers to support, we will investigate and replace all.

We have bought them in Poland from the local distributors. There is no problem with replacing them in the distributor shops, but the problem is time to do it and the effort from our employees. We make the complete kits (RB + our antennas) for WISP.
We send broken units back and the distributor sends us the new one… but… some of the new one appears to be broken also… and again again again. If the defestiveness is constant then we should have the complete (and efficient RB) order up to the end of the week )) …

Please send the serial numbers to support@mikrotik.com

This problem persist since the RB7xx series. Sextant have it, SXT lite have it, it look like the new devices also. And why? Because of soldering economy.

That is not true! Something like this has not been seen for a long time. You mentioned products from a long time ago, all of them were made around the same time. Since one bad batch we have not seen this anymore.

OK, I will collect the S/N and send to the support.

Routerboards were bought from 3 different distributors, the problem is same everywhere.

I don’t want to judge but I think as Inox that the problem source is in economy.

It is too early to tell. We need to see which batch they are from, when we know, we will see which factory and which production line. Then we can see time and other things. We will investigate what happened at that moment.

It’s ok, the S/N sent to support@mikrotik.com.

I believe You will find the problem source, it has made our employees angry… time loses, money loses etc…

Today came the next 15 pieces of them, I ordered 5 pieces more to bypass the problem, I hope I will ship the complete order to my customer today…

Anyway, have You just determined the problem source ?

From these 15 pieces which came, everyone was ok. But I don’t believe that the problem isn’t known… please take a look on the new one → http://www.routerboards.net/AC1.jpg

and the old one

The soldering is much better in the new one when in the old one is veeeeery poor.

Surface mounted connectors are always a bit troublesome, throughole is preferred.

Yes, especially when on the PCB there are some tensions like on LAN connector → http://www.routerboards.net/2.jpg .

Luckily we completed the order…

It looks like some bad shipment. Please return all of them for replacement.
We got your SN numbers and have opened an investigation with the factory that made these .

Really?
