problem with low pings...

hi, i’m looking for someone how had the same problem…

i have around 40 host in my wireless network, and when all users are using my service it turns very low… i blocked all p2p traffic but its does the same problem…

for example usually i ping http://www.google.com.ar and the ping avg is 250ms.
and then its turn to an avg of 1500ms

my provider is giving me an ADSL of 2.5mbps
and the avg of download is 256kbps aprox.
and the avg of upload is 90kbps.

i don’t know where is the problem… i tried limiting connection per users and its does the same error…

i have another adsl of 640kbps as backup connection… and with this, is doing the same error…

Are you trying to “overbook” your capacity?
ADSL modems tend to be ridiculessly underpowered.
Remember ADSL is ultra-low-cost mass market with the cheapest components.

You said wireless network. What are the pings from client to AP?

i have LINKSTAR satallite moden , is it ADSL also ??

thanks all for your comment, but i discovered the problem of low pings in wan, my upload was “overflow” i changed the limit of upload per user and it was resolved. every user is limited to 16kbps!!! (slow upload but it is working fine)…
