I replaced old Edimax 8port 100Mbit switch by new 1Gbit 8port Zyxel GS-108B and I found I could not connect to Mikrotik Routerboard by MAC from Winbox.
Winbox can discover it, connect, but then in Winbox looks like no data in any menu, even no info about system itself. Looks crazy like swicth would filter the data transfer from MK to Winbox.
When I connect MK directly to PC, it works. And also it works again when I replace the new ZYgex swicth by old Edimax.
Any idea even stupid one why such strange behaviour or anyone experienced the same issue?
some time your Ethernet wire or connectors (RJ45) create miner problems, reasons 1 rust, 2 carbon and may some time wire problem, 10/100 Ethernet with small length of wire work fine, but long wire or 100/1000 show loss signals problem or some time disconnect
so you can change your wire one time before changing switch or Ethernet device
So far no solution
I tried to use Zyxel switch to communicate to Edimax printserver and no problem.
The only problem is to communicate with Mikrotik MAC server and does not matter if MK on Routerboard on MK as a software on PC.
I played with cables, put another switch into the chain, change PCs, Mikrotiks…
