Problem with multiple WAN

Hi!

We have 2 upstream provider and one direct PNI with CDN. Many a times much of the traffic comming from upstream provider, which idealy should come from CDN-PNI . Please suggest how to control incoming traffic route . We have BGP with each of upstream and CDN.

tried controlling AS- prepend but not got desired result.

To influence incoming traffic is not easy. Prepending will not help if e.g
provider x is a transit customer of ISP x, then that ISP will always prefer those routes than routes learnt from peering partners.

Some ISPs / IXs will let you leverage communities to impact how routes are handled internally. Some providers here in the US will let you determine what they set for local preference within their AS which can be helpful to make them prefer a non-direct path to you for inbound traffic.
