Problem with new 3gb/s connection with RB4011, I can ping but now browse

Hello.

We have just upgraded our internet from 1/gb fiber to 3gb and bought RB4011.

The problem is when I set SFP+ as WAN i barely get any connection, I can ping google and mikrotik but not browse.

All lan ports are bridged.

I have tried both setting up everything manually or quickset, same results.

My ISP says that the problem is on our end, but i really dont know what more to do.

There is no Firewall filter only NAT (masquerade).

Followed couple of different guides but nothing seems to work.

Upgraded firmware to the latest firmware via Netinstall.

Dhcp settings:

192.168.1.254 (23, 255.255.254.0)
Range: 192.168.0.1-192.168.1.239

ISP told me to try and change MTU on SFP+ to 1495 but that did not work either.

On our old Cisco Router there were no issues connecting RJ45 with the same settings.

No, you’re not doing anything wrong. I was just stating that you might try a test with an Ethernet port to verify the issue is with the SFP port and not something else. Use ether6. You won’t get 3Gb speeds, but you’ll get something more than you have and can verify.

What kind, brand, etc. SFP module are you using in the RB4011’s SFP+ slot?

If I set sfp as Wan in interface list and ether 1 as wan in adresses, its all up and running, but I dont know if we are getting the 3gb since I also connected ether1 to the fiberbox.

So sfp connected between fiberbox and rb4011 and network cable between fiberbox and rb4011.

What gives you confidence that the SFP is compatible with the fiberbox? Previously you have an RJ45 connection. That SFP module is single mode 1310nm. Is your ISP good with that? Look at the status of the SFP module and see what it is reporting. The fiberbox, is it something like a multiplex?

Yes, ISP recomended this SFP+ and we checked that it will be compatible with the rb4011.

The “fiberbox” is a Cisco ASR920

Forgot to mention that when I run a speed test I get like 900+ mb upload but only like 2 down, this is with only sfp connected as wan.
