problem with new drivers and atheros 5213

Does anyone have any expirience with atheros 5213 and new drivers for mikrotik? I have problem that with new drivers power output from cards are extreamly weak (up to -30 db compared to 5212 cards)

Tested several different bradns but without success..
With legacy-drivers everything is ok…

Here it is how it looks:
ADDRESS SSID BAND FREQ BSS PRIVACY SIGNAL-STRENGTH ROUTEROS-NETWORK NSTREME FAST-FRAMES RAD… ROU…
00:30:4F:29:0F:BF 5212 2.4ghz-g 2452 yes no -58 yes no no 003… 2.8.16
00:03:2F:25:14:59 5213 2.4ghz-g 2472 yes no -89 yes no no 000… 2.8.16

This is scan from another mikrotik 5 m away…

cards I have are from Trust and Planet

http://www.trust.com/products/product.htm?artnr=13645

http://www.planet.com.tw/product/product_dm.php?product_id=166&menu_id=14

both cards are Atheros 5213 based
after I looked under the hood of the cards, there are written
wl2454vp-2a0 Ver 1.0

AR5213A-00

Once again, with legacy-wireless everything is ok…

There are many Atheros cards on the market that have cut corners on engineering and they are cheaper. They work ok indoors, but when it comes to long distance links and high performance, they don’t work well.

As they say in Latvia, “the stingy one pays twice.”

Thats all ok, but, with this drivers they dont work even indoors…this is 5 meters distance…
All I want to know does anyone have any expirience with 5213 cards and new drivers…

Is the “CM-9” radio using Atheros 5213 a “good” radio?
It is from Taiwan, and sold by various people though not by MT I think

We were considering using those -

Thanks

Stephen

ok…done some more testing and I think I found the problem…
when there is only one cards (5213 or 5212) it appears that it is
working properly (will do some additional tests)
so when both cards, 5212 and 5213 in one computer (despite if they are
enabled or disabled) only 5212 is working correctly…

This is definitally an issue with you motherboard or bios.

John

ok…will do more testing…
