We have pc based routers in operation. All are P4 3.0Ghz on Genuine intel boards (different models).
All are running the PCI to Mini PCI adaptors with Atheros AR5213 based A/B/G cards from Senao.
All routers link in series to each other using Nstreme Dual on G frequencies.
Whenever we do a bandwidth from router to router neighbour and the speed starts increasing above 5Mb/s or so the Nstreme Dual interface “locks up”.
We then need to either reboot the router or if we are onsite access the lan port and disable and then enable that particular interface, sometimes on both routers before the link is established again.
ROS ver is 2.9.5. Was running on 2.8.27 & 28 although i only had two routers operational on that version. We definitely got a sustained reading of 24Mb/s both directions simultaneously for an entire 24 hour burn in test over a 42Km link.
After adding the other two routers and upgrading all to 2.9.5 this problem started to appear.
The test can be run between any two neighbouring routers and we get the same problem. Tried switching one of the links to 5GHz, still locks up at around 5Mb/s. For that reason i tend to rule out fault hardware. Anyone got any other suggestions or had incompatibility issues on any hardware i mentioned with 2.9.5?
Any help is appreciated cause this is becoming a pain in the butt. Watchdog is a work around but it doesn’t solve the problem.
Thanks
