Problem with packets reaching destination

Hi all,

I’ve got some weirdness going on here. My first bet is it is a misconfiguration on my part, other than that I have no idea. Here is whats happening;

I have a /29 address assigned to a vrrp for wan and a /24 (192.168.100.1) assigned to a vrrp for lan side. Yes I read some posts about it needed to be a /32 but could not get that to work. Next I have a /29 addresses assigned to the ether1-gateway and another /24 on the bridge-local.

The problem is this, our primary wan ip ends in .18. We have a second router temporarily in place that is currently assigned a .19 from that same /29 range assigned in the CloudCore router above. The .19 houses our mail server. If you are on the .18 internal network, some of the computers can open an smtp connect (or any other connection type -port 80) to the .19 server without any problems, however, many cannot. The part that is even more odd is that, at what seems like a random point, a machine that wasn’t able to talk with it, suddenly can.

I’ve tripple checked all the filter / NAT rules and everything is configured exactly like every other routerOS unit I have and all those are working.

This is a CCR unit running 6.1. Again the only oddity here from my view point is that I defined the /29 on the WAN yet used one of those IP’s outside the CCR on a completely different physical network.

Thanks,
Ken
