Problem with ppp via modem dialing

Hi all, this is my first post here.

I have installed the demo version for testing on a specific application I have, so I can later use a routerboard for this.
This is my very first touch with RouterOS and I feel I must say I am very impressed with the product. If all goes well, I think I will use it for dial-on-demand in a village where there is no DSL yet and later will try a scenario with 2-3 bonded ISDN dialups for communication with another point for a small videoconference application.

The problem is I have a very strange behavior when dialing with an ISDN modem to some Internet providers. PPP interface status goes to state “Authenticated” after a while, but the OS does not get any IP address. I managed to get to a point where I got a “Connected” status (and also got an IP address) when connecting with only one of the providers yesterday, although I didn’t get anything to work - not even a ping to the router on the other side.

I’m very new to RouterOS, so I may be doing something wrong, but I guess connecting to an Internet provider via dialup should be very straightforward, so I’m very puzzled with this.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Server should assign address to PPP tunnel, when you are authorized, there is no any settings in RouterOS for it, IP address should be added automatically.

If you change router with regular computer. Are you able to get IP address to PPP tunnel?

Thanks for replying. This was a modem issue as I found out some days later ..
