Problem with PPTP

Hi,

I installed ,bridge, between two routers over wifi (prism 2.5 / 1mbps) and PPTP and EoIP tunnels and my max data througput is about 2.5-2.7mbps !!!
Where can be a problem ? Without tunnels works on 5.0-5.5mbps and when tunnels is used cpu on both routers is about 50-60%.

Big packets have to be fragmented, making two packet for what was one. The overhead per wireless frame for the ‘extra’ frames slows the wireless. Nstreme can fix this or if you have two mikrotiks, raise the MTU on the wireless interface to 1550 and check the pptp and EoIP settings (I think the have an MTU also).

you mean increase MTU on WIFI to 1550 and leave PPTP and EoIP on 1500 or incrase MTU PPTP and EoIP to 1550 too ?

I have this config between two Mikrotik :

WIFI>WDS>PPTP>EoIP
When I set MTU on Wifi to 1550, what is best MTU on others protocols for best perfomance ?

And what is max MTU for WIFI interface ? (Prism 2.5)
