Problem with routeros-x86-2.9.35.npf upgrade file

I just upgraded a HotSpot system running 2.9.34 using the routeros-x86-2.9.35.npk file. After the reboot the system (running on a WRAP board) did not come up again. I power-cycled the router, and it came up again.

HOWEVER: “/system packages” does show the “combined” package installed, but this is missing a lot of packages, amongst them the hotspot package! I.e. it’s not that the hotspot package is disabled - it’s just not there. Actually the only packages in there are those:

The system identity has been reset to “MikroTik”, too.

The log does contain five empty log lines from directly after the start - just date/time, topic “system info”, but no more content.

The routeros-x86-2.9.35.npk file has a size of 11.157.244 bytes, so the size seems to fit the earlier packages containing everything. I have downloaded this file on November 6th at 15:18 (GMT+1).

Has anyone seen something similar?
Any comments from MikroTik?
Does sending in a supout make sense here?

One more thing I just discovered: the package file (routeros-x86-2.9.35.npk) is still on the router after the reboot.

“/system check-installation” reports no errors, but does also only check the “reduced” package set I posted above.

And three (!) more reboots further on, everything is good again…

VERY strange. After the first reboots, the package file was still there, but not all packages were installed. (But the installed ones already were the upgraded 2.9.35 version, see above.)

After the third reboot the package file is gone, and all packages are installed again. Even the hotspot config is there as before…

I upgraded 10-15 routers for tests x86/rb500 (broken routing-test ospf so downgraded back), there were no problems at all with upgrading to 2.9.35.
