Problem with SXT's booting up... (after rain storms e.t.c)

Hello there!

More than 2 dozen of my sxt’s are suffering from no boot problem. Its a similar kind of problem linked in this video below…

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JIff0A8dYE

Where when u plug in the power, u see both the power and ether leds on instantly at the same time but nothing happens. No beep sound, no nothing. Can’t detect via net install, or winbox. It simply acts as dead.

I did find after the rains that the lower portion of the sxt board gets a bit corroded (galvanic perhaps because we r next to sea) but even after cleaning the board, the condition remains same.

If any one could direct me, either its a dead diode, or a chip or something… it’ll be really helpful.

Cheers.

Thank you.

Yeah i actually did read the threads where the members complained about the design flaw or the salty water or water ingress and e.t.c.

So it means we’ll have to get in the newer versions of sxt’s and wait for the older generation of sxt’s to die. Eventually they will ‘cos of the weather here in cyprus. I cannot even close the sxt case shut and fill all the holes with silicon or whatnot, because its bloody 50’ centigrade in summer… Bummer.

Anyways, thanks again.

Can you clarify why you can’t close the SXT? How is it related to temperature?
