Problem with updating cAP ac from 7.16.1 to 7.20.5

Hello everyone,

I just bought cAP ac to update my local home network and unexpectedly got a problem with updating my device. It has RouterOS 7.16.1 and I downloaded routeros-7.20.5-arm.npk on the device and rebooted, but it’s version still 7.16.1. I’ve downloaded again to be sure that file is complete and shot down the device and it didn’t help. Of coure I download from mikrotik.download. Don’t know what could be wrong.

Any thoughts?

You forgot the wireless (or wifi-qcom-ac) package.
Better let the Mikrotik do the update.

Translated: go to System / Packages and hit upgrade.
Your device will sort out on its own what packages are needed then.

cAP ac have only 16M

Manually install 7.16.2 and never update further until MikroTik takes devices with only 16MB of ROM into account.
Which is to say, NEVER, because they never gave a damn.

If they cared, they would have made model-specific driver packages,
without having to put ALL the drivers for all the models, running out of space.
