Problem with User Manager!

Hello World!
I'm new in all this thing, and yes obviously I'm Sorry for my bad English... :smiley:

1: I can access and login properly to userman "router_IP/userman" and also can create users as ONE/BATCH booth, and also i can login with those user ID&Pass to "router_IP/user" and it works properly...

Now the problem is whenever a client try to use internet with those ID&Pass user manager says "Invalid Username or Password!"

But

2: When I'm creating user by WINBOX "IP > HOTSPOT > USERS" and give it to my client they can access Internet with this ID&Pass (which created by winbox)!

and one thing more that the user ID&Pass I'm creating by WINBOX it does not working on "router_IP/user" it is also say that "Invalid Username or Password!"

now I've to create users manually by winbox for my clients but its really difficult to me...
if anybody can say now what to do then it will save my lots of time to creating user ID&Pass...

Few Details About My Machine

MikroTik x86 (v5.25) Level 6
3Ethernet

1= WAN> PPPoE
2= LAN> DHCP (for my office use)
3= WLAN> Hotspot (for my coffee shop)

i think you should check is Secret and IP same on User manager and Mikrotik radius manager setting.
I hope ur problem will be fixed with that

IP: 127.0.0.1
Secret: 12345

then what is wrong ???

I also have same problem. Any solution ?

I created 42 user and they have same error of invalid error.

It’s start working when I deleted those user and re-create all user. It’s not convenience to use user manager. :frowning: :frowning:

Hello there! I am using Mikrotik user-manager 5.26 and same problem of no login access for the created users in UM for Hotspot users. I have been double check everything with the proper UM setup process as described everywhere on the net about Mikrotik setup tutorial, but no access to the created users in user-manager. I don’t why its no working at all? Any valuable help will be appreciated to fix this issue. Attached is the sreenshot for setup process. Thanks.

@paams I think your problem may be that both the hotspot server and RADIUS are on one address. Try using your router’s local IP (used for connecting to ROS) for RADIUS and another one for the hotspot WLAN.

Thank you very much Raptorx for your prompt response in solving my problem. I heartily appreciate this. I think so…! you are right but don’t understand and a bit confused how to configure this with different IPs. As per UM must have to match IP & secret key to authorize the user. Please correct me if i’m confusing. It would be so nice of you if you could explain me with an setup exapmle for Hotspot +RADIUS+Usermanager configuration having Usermanger & Hotspot on the same routerboard OS. I am using RB450G. Thanks.

The idea is you have created HS by Setup using the default IP (10.5.50.1). The HS network has that IP and you’re trying to configure the RADIUS to use it too. So I think the two user databases (in ip-hotspot-user and one in the UM) mess up. In my case for example I have LAN address (my router’s address) 192.168.1.1 and I’m using it to connect to the router and for the RADIUS server (because the idea in 1 router scenario is to have RADIUS running on the same network / router) and I have different address for my hotspot WLAN network (192.168.2.1).
So in your case try changing the RADIUS IP both in winbox and UM to the router’s address.

Hello raptorx! Thank you very much for your assistance to me on this. I have made RADIUS setup same as per your guide on the same RB450G with hotspot IP pool 10.5.50.1 and setup UM and RADIUS with the routers IP address 192.168.0.1, but afraid to say that UM still didn’t login the registered users created on this. As other forum users say I think there would be a bug with Mikrotik UM 5.x version. Any further help on this will be appreciated. Thanks.

Is there a reason to stay on 5.26? I’m new MikroTik user and I’ve been using only versions 6.2x. If you don’t especially prefer the old version over the new ones, try updating. Otherwise I don’t have other idea for the moment.
