Problem with Windows 8?

My wife and I work for a company that provides support for hotels and we mainly supply MikroTik gateways. We’ve used WinBox for a year with no problem. We both upgraded to Windows 8 in January and hadn’t seen any issues until recently when WinBox crashed on my PC. After the crash, I rebooted and was no longer able to access any router. As it tries to log in, there’s an error that flashes far too quickly to see what it says and then is replaced by a window saying it was unable to log in. My wife and I are both using almost identical computers with Eset AV, on the same network. Her PC hasn’t had this problem. We connect to a VPN for work. The first time the crash and subsequent inability to log in happened, it was resolved with doing a system restore to the day it crashed. It happened again yesterday and, once again, I’m unable to log in to any MikroTiks on my PC. I’d prefer to not have to restore my PC regularly, so does anyone have any insight as to why this is happening? Thanks in advance.
