Problems with 1000BASE-BX SFP Modules in RB2011UiAS

Hi,

we have deployed around 25 RB2011UiAS as CPE connected via fiber. When using an FTTH environment with 1000Base-BX (single fiber) we’re running in problems with the link between central switch (Cisco Catalyst 450x) and RB2011UiAS. It seems that auto negotiation does not work in specific RB2011UiAS models. Putting the SFP in RB2011UiAS models with serial numbers beginning with 4 (i.e. 44…/408) auto negotiation does not work. By setting autoneg to off and forcing to 1000Fullduplex we’re able to bring the link up. Nevertheless the link is up but not stable. Inserting the SFP module into a model with serial beginning with 5 (i.e. 51…/422) does work without any problems yet. We have already tested the most recent software version (6.19) and the originally installed ones (6.5, 6.7, 6.12) in different models – always coming to the same conclusion: It’s not working in models having a serial which begins with 4.

Were there any hardware changes made between those models? Could it be fixed via Software?

I have a 2011iLS with serial number 4*, and I have found no problems so far with the SFP port.
I used a multi-mode MikroTik adapter both sides. At the other side of the cable, there were a 3Com 2226 SFP switch.
