Problems with moving WAN port on hAP from ether 1 to ether 5

Hi All

Having a lot of issues trying to run SXT LTE units from hAP Lite AC units after moving the WAN port from 1 to 5. I don’t have a huge amount of experience with the configuration but have coped ok to date after deploying around 20 LTE units + routers using seperate power sources but really want to simplify the installations with one power source.

This is what i do to try and get the configuration to work:-

  1. go to interfaces and change WAN to Ether 5, add ether 1 back as a Lan.
  2. delete ether 5 from the bridge and add ether 1 back as a LAN
  3. change the DHCP client from Ether 1 to Ether 5.
  4. change the IP range so that its different to the SXT LTE
  5. apply a static route to the SXT LTE unit.

Once all this is done, everything works until i restart the Router then i lose internet and the WAN has shifted back to port 1 on the interfaces and the port 1 has become disabled on the bridge and i have to start again.

Can someone help me here as this is starting to drive me bananas as i can’t figure it out.

Many thanks.

Joe.

Hmmm. Exactly what I do with the hAp ac Lite. Only it stays as it is after reboot.
ether5 in the WAN interface list and the bridge in the LAN interface list, ether1 till ether4 connected to the bridge. DHCP client on the ether5, DHCP server on the bridge, default route to the uplink device on ether5.

This looks like an expected “default config reset” during the reboot.
Don’t understand. Some wild guesses: When doing the reboot, there is no flag set to restore the default config, or “run after reset” kind of things? Reset button stuck?

Are you using the default power supply that comes with the unit? (24v 1200mA)??

“until i restart the Router”

Just wondering … How … do you restart the router ?

I use the reboot command from within the os
