Problems with Nstreme.

Hello!

Good peoples, I read much things about nstreme that is protocol propriety of Mikrotik, but my doubts is this:

I have a Point to Point with 2 MK, and have it configuration: RB133, R52h, signal -30dbm, link 5.8 turbo, ACK Timeout de 28 us, ping in PTP is 2ms, and transfer rate it down in information get in Bandwitdth Test.

But when empowering the Nstreme the ping increases and varies between 10ms and 15ms, and transfer rate almost still same thing, someone know that that is?

Remember that i work with Nstreme simple only one interface!

Nstreme disable

[admin@Milenum] /tool> bandwidth-test 192.168.30.250 user=admin password=
xxxxx
status: running
duration: 5m1s
rx-current: 18.8Mbps
rx-10-second-average: 18.3Mbps
rx-total-average: 18.0Mbps
lost-packets: 0
random-data: no
direction: receive
rx-size: 1500

Nstreme Enable

[admin@Milenum] /tool> bandwidth-test 192.168.30.250 user=admin password=
xxxxx
status: running
duration: 5m9s
rx-current: 20.2Mbps
rx-10-second-average: 20.5Mbps
rx-total-average: 19.7Mbps
lost-packets: 526
random-data: no
direction: receive
rx-size: 1500

Look the lost-packets: 526 when the Nstreme it Active, why it happens? And why the packet ICMP fire at 600ms? And when the nstreme not it active he varies between in 20ms and 30ms it is when it do bandwidth-test.

Thanks.

Rb133 is not powerful enough to do transfer speeds of Nstreme, you will be better off without it. Rb411AH would be much better in this regard

RB133 is to weak for ROS3.X and Nstreme. They best perform with ROS2.9.51 and
without Nstreme.
You’ve to use at least RB5xx to get a performance increase with Nstreme.
I’ve done some tests with RB1xx,RB5xx,RB3xx and RB6xx. RB5xx(399MHz) can
handle 20MHz Channel Nstreme. It needs RB3xx or RB6xx to get a 40MHz Channel
with Nstreme to run at full performance in Lab (~65MBit Aggregated).

Hello!

Thanks for all reply, I do test with other RB, and post here the test´s.
