Hi all,
I’ve got a question, simply because I seem to have a hard time to get something working.
At our place the people want to monitor business processes.
For example: email
As we all know email depends on several working components/devices or services on them.
- you’ve got your incoming connection from/to the Internet.
- Firewall/Proxy
- ISP Router
- Core switches
- Workgroup switches
- Email server(-cluster)
etcetc..
For VoIP we need PoE, working workgroup and coreswitches and a working telephony server/gateway.
For PoIP (PIN over IP) we need the PIN’s to work, workgroup and coreswitches.
Now we want to get more insight in this picture (I only mentioned a few and not all of them [I’m not that crazy..]).
My question to all of you is the following.
Is there an easy way to create something within the Dude which does this?
So, in case a workgroupswitch necessary for a (or multiple) PoIP device(s) fails, a label should turn red and the process of PoIP experiences some or total failure.
When the workgroupswitch on which our callcenter is connected fails, a label should turn red which states that the callcenter is unreachable.
When PoE on a workgroup switch fails, something should turn orange/red because part of the personel is no longer able to use VoIP telephony.
Can anyone of you tell me if there is a way to accomplish this within the Dude (v3.5)?
And if it isn’t possible yet, is the development team of The Dude considering to implement this feature in a new release?
I’ve heard many more engineers who are confronted with this request and I also know that there are tools able to do this but most are way too expensive (some go easily over €150.000,–. bit expensive right?).
So, maybe this is a good thing to implement within the Dude to make your name big..
I hope to hear from you.
Best regards,
Minollie
