Process to get wireless cards supported?

Hi guys, I was just wondering, and been doing that for a while now actually… How would one go about getting a wireless card supported by routerOS? I have had two or three wireless cards, all with atheros chipsets not working on ROS.

Also, how does hardware driver selection get done? who decides on what merit (In Mtik) what cards/hardware get supported?

This would for example make me able to make an old laptop into a wifi AP for my home, using mikrotik, which is the routing OS of choice for me.

Any help would be appreciated.

RouterOS supports all atheros chipsets. If some atheros cards are not working for you, you have other issues. Send supout.rif file to support/

This is good news, I’ll dig out those wireless cards out soon and send the file.

By the way, what about other hardware/wifi cards that are not supported?

The way I reason is, the more hardware is supported by ROS the wider user base it will cover, and the more places it can be used.

Might be considerations that I dont take into account like managing the drivers for all ros versions ect ect ect.

Question still remains, how does the process work on selecting what hardware gets supported?
