I would like to suggest expanding the range of media converter products, designed specifically for server rooms, small racks and classic desktop installations.
The FTC21-ups is a good example: fiber connectivity, Ethernet ports, PoE support and even integrated battery backup. However, its IP67 enclosure is clearly designed mainly for outdoor/CCTV deployments.
It would be great to see this device in smaller, more conventional MikroTik enclosures, intended for indoor use.
In other words, compact managed fiber media converters that could be easily placed on a desk, in a technical cabinet or mounted in a rack, without the size and outdoor-oriented construction required for IP67 installations.
Personally, I would really like to see more MikroTik media converters designed specifically for indoor and rack/desktop environments, with the FTC21-ups concept being one interesting example of what such devices could offer.
Anyone else find this kind of product useful?
