Profiles Shared Users and Limiting the Router Bandwidth

Hi Good day

I have few questions about user manager

  1. On Profile Shared Users - What is meant by “not used” or 1? Does this mean no one can login or just 1 person can login?
  2. I wanted 1 user only can log-in in 1 credential so I set Shared user=1. BUT when I test it, 3 cellphones can still login the same credential simultaneously. What did I do wrong.
Good Thing, once the access expired, the credential can not be used again.
  3. About Limiting the Bandwidth - My internet is “16Mbps” as claimed by my ISP but I wanted my Mikrotik router to just have up to 8Mbps only to be shared to all my HotSpot Users.

Thanks a lot.

hi,

1- “not used” mean the shared user is open for any numbers . but you must config the default profile in hotspot user profile.
2- you must again config the default profile in hotspot user profile and set shared users = 1 , be sure about that.

3- you can config the bandwidth limit from queue simple
you can set all address range in target like this rule

/queue simple add max-limit=4M/8M name=myhotspot-limit target=192.168.88.0/24
