Proper Point to Multi Point Setup

What I want to achieve is a 5.8 GHz point to multi point configuration.

This is going to be a 16 location wireless IP camera system using Mikrotik Gear,The camera will be plugged into a routerboard via ethernet cable. Also I want to make the camera locations a 2.4 Gig Wifi Access Point using a second Radio card and antenna. The “Head End” will have the internet access, Camera DVR’s and a few Mikrotik Router etc… The “head end” will have 2 separate networks, the 10.0.0.0/24 will be the Camera network and the 172.0.0.0/24 will be the Hot Spot network for public Internet. Can I Vlan through a Wireless Link? What is the Proper configuration ? Should I use WDS etc…

Any suggestions or comments will be appreciated.

Thank You

there is no such thing as Proper point to Multi Point, not in licence free frequencies
you can set it up and work properly for years or start having problems the next day.

use WDS if you want a bridged wi network but i recomend routed network if you have multiple ip ranges.

browse a bit the wiki page and the manual, as we always do from time to time and you’ll find is not hard.

miktorik is ment to route the world
