Proper way to bond wireless links

I just upgraded to 2.9.13 from 2.8.28 on a link, which has dual redundant radio links (2 x 5.3 ghz complete links). Currently I use dual-gateways to route over each link set. I tried to make bonding work, unsuccessfully. Here’s what I tried to do on each router:

bonding1 > slaves: wlan1,wlan2

bonding1 > slaves: wlan1,wlan2

wlan1 and wlan2 were ap-bridge to station, which I even tried station-WDS, and setting the other side to WDS mode as well. I changed the bonding slaves to the WDS interfaces (WDS1,WDS2) as well, to no avail. According to the MT manual, I need to use EOIP, but I’m worried I might lose performance over the dual-gateway method now. Also, when I tried removing the bonding1, I got a error on the console, I remember the number said “-12”. I could not warm restart the router, it was completely locked up.

Any ideas?

you should use mode=bridge on both sides and creade WDS interfaces on both sides. After that put the wds interfaces in the bonding.

Is bonding 2 wireless links better than using nStreme2?
