I wanted to update my home wifi network because i get new ISP provider with new router. Problem is that provider wanted me to buy ethernet router, so no wifi, and then i can connect access point if i want. (Provider is a free, local based ISP) so I bought RB760iGS HEX s and for my WiFi access point i get RBcAPGi-5acD2nD.
My question is, what is the proper way of configuring setup like this ? I mean, i can just connect AP to the router and AP can get IP from the router and access to the internet (that is the setup right now as almost all of my devices are wireless), but i want to configure it properly, so i can access local network from laptop, tablet, etc.
Mesh means wireless backhaul, in case of cables you don’t have to use a wireless backhaul. And you can forget Mesh (hurray!).
Just configure all accesspoints as linked by @bpwl and make sure that they don’t have overlapping channels. You’ll do fine.
Thanks, i already configured one AP, and it’s working great but will buy another one for the workshop.
I asked about the Mesh because I had 3 small routers in some sort of the Mesh kit, that needed to be connected by cable to have good connection and one SSID. ( I was able to connect them wirelesly but speed was bad…)
